Smooth golden tan surfaces exhibit a hint of microgranularity under low magnification, along with a well-hidden scratch at the back of Liberty's head from the base of the cap to the E in LIBERTY. Solid eye appeal in-hand, and all things considered, still an attractive and collectable example of the the first year of half cent coinage and the only year with the Flowing Hair, Liberty Cap left design.
