1793 1/2 C AU53 PCGS. B-2, C-2, R.3. The reverse has a prominent center dot and a widely spaced TAT in STATES. On the obverse, the B and R in LIBERTY are entered high. This lovely medium golden-brown Half Cent has pleasing sharpness and impressively undisturbed surfaces. The dies are rotated clockwise. Liberty Cap Half Cents were produced annually through 1797, but only the 1793 varieties depict the portrait of Liberty facing Left. Early type collectors as well as specialists of the denomination need look no further for a lightly circulated specimen. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 7 in 53 for all 1793 varieties, 36 finer (10/03).
