1858-D Gold Dollar. Winter 10-M, the only known dies. MS-63 (NGC). The strike for this evenly patinated, green-gold example is a bit soft at the rims and in the center of the obverse. Other areas are boldly to sharply defined, and more direct angles call forth a brighter yellow-gold sheen to the color. With glints of semi reflective luster also discernible as the coin dips into a light, this moderately abraded AU is an appealing circulated survivor of the type.
