1810 Classic Half Cent. C-1, the only known dies. Rarity-2. AU-55 (PCGS). Struck from slightly misaligned dies, as typically encountered in 1810 half cents, the right obverse and reverse peripheral areas are a bit softly defined. The reverse is also rotated approximately 45 degrees counterclockwise in relation to normal coin alignment. Sharply defined in other areas, with rich, even, deep copper patina blanketing smooth, modestly glossy features. Only 215,000 half cents were struck during calendar year 1810, although a few examples of this date may also have been struck during early 1811. In either case, the 1810 is a scarcer issue in the Classic series of 1809 to 1836.
