1854 Pattern Flying Eagle Cent. Judd-164 Original, Pollock-189. Rarity-5. Proof-62 BN (NGC). Eagle Eye Photo Seal. 93.8 grains. A large eagle flies left on the obverse with 13 stars around the border and the date 1854 below. On the reverse, the denomination ONE CENT is surrounded by a wreath that displays two leaves below the letter E in STATES. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the border. Struck in bronze (95% copper, 4% tin, 1% zinc) with a plain edge. Deep brown with lively blue and rose iridescence.
