1855 Pattern Flying Eagle Cent. Judd-171A, Pollock-196. Rarity-8. German Silver. EF-40 (NGC). Eagle Eye Photo Seal. 7.5 grams. 63% copper, 19% nickel, 17% zinc. Large eagle flying left, 13 stars around, date below, reverse with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around a small central wreath, ONE / CENT within. Evenly worn steel gray surfaces betray no marks of significance. The <em>uspatterns.com </em>website suggests about one dozen examples of J-171A are known.
