1858 Pattern Flying Eagle Cent. Judd-203, Pollock-247. Rarity-5. Proof-65 (PCGS). CAC. Copper nickel. Plain edge. Obverse with small flying eagle left, legends and date around. Reverse, ONE CENT, oak wreath around. Lovely rose iridescence on the obverse with nicely mirrored fields and sharp, satiny devices. The reverse is lighter in tone with faint violet highlights. A couple of tiny rim nicks on the reverse are noted for accuracy, but still pleasing and approved by CAC.
