1858 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-208, Pollock-259. Rarity-1. Proof-63 (PCGS). Cupro-nickel. Plain edge. Lustrous golden tan with lively rose and carmine toning highlights. A popular pattern piece that has been adopted by Indian cent specialists, many of whom include Judd-208 in their cabinets. The uspatterns.com website notes: ""This is the so-called design of 1859 and is popular as a transitional issue. It was part of a 12-piece set which was sold to collectors by the Mint.""
