1858 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-208, Pollock-253. Rarity-1. Proof-61 (NGC). The obverse features the regular issue Indian cent design of 1859 and early 1860, the date 1858 low in the field and the truncation of the bust pointed. The reverse exhibits the denomination ONE CENT surrounded by a laurel wreath that has clusters of five leaves. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge.<br /> Sharply struck with bold medium tan patina enhanced by subtle pale pink highlights. A few faint carbon flecks are insignificant for the assigned grade.
