1859 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-228 Transitional, Pollock-272. Rarity-1. Copper-Nickel. Plain Edge. MS-65 (NGC). Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Obv: same as the circulating cents of the date. Rev: same as the reverse style adopted in 1860 with small federal shield at top of oak wreath. A frosty rose-gold specimen with lively luster and exceptional eye appeal. The strike is mainly sharp throughout with just a hint of weakness in the reverse shield. An ever-popular pattern with Indian cent specialists.
