Lot Description
1843 1/2 C Original PR65 Brown PCGS. B-1a, R.6. A lovely Gem proof example of the Original variety, actually struck in 1843 and identified by large berries in the wreath. Approximately 20 examples of this variety are known today. This sharply struck specimen has fully reflective fields and light cameo contrast. Light brown surfaces are accented by gold, tan, and pale blue color. The obverse has a few darker toning spots (non-corrosive) that may assist in pedigree determination. One of these is at the back of Liberty's mouth, and another is in the field above the bust tip. Highly desirable and attractive. EAC PR60.
