1796 Draped Bust Cent. S-114. Rarity-5. Noyes Die State A. Reverse of 1797. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. Strong eye appeal for this early cent as the copper is so smooth and completely without pitting or corrosion. Condition Census quality and a coin that has been off the market for generations and not included in those known of this variety. Strong hair definition with minimal wear on the uppermost curls, similar quality on the wreath where some of the leaves retain their central vein, others just worn smooth from brief circulation. No bumps, spots or distracting digs, keeping this above the average level. Early die state as no cracks are present save for the short one down to the second T in STATES from the rim. Fine die lines at TA and dentil clashing, thin die scratches through CA of AMERICA as well. The strike is shallow on LIBERTY. A coin certain to attract the attention of advanced specialists.
