Lot Description
1804 1C VF30 PCGS. S-266, R.2. BDS II. The tops of RTY in LIBERTY are connected by a thin die crack, as made, but this crack has not yet developed into a die break. A small planchet flaw (as made) is noted below the second S in STATES, and a couple of thin pinscratches on the obverse are made inconspicuous by the chestnut-brown patina. Liberty's hair has rich definition. The 1804 Cent is represented by only a single die pair, Sheldon-266, and is the second rarest date within the Large Cent series, after the 1799. From The Joshua and Ally Walsh Collection of United States Cents.
