Lot Description
1814 Classic Cent. S-295. Rarity-1. Noyes Die State A. Plain 4. AU-50 (PCGS). A spindly die crack (as made) arcs through the lower right obverse from below the digit 8 in the date to the border outside star 11, but the die had not yet started to crumble at Liberty's throat when this piece was struck. Glossy and tight with handsome deep brown patina, both the amount of detail and the level of surface preservation are superior in a large cent of the Classic design type. Abrasions are few in number and generally small in size, with a lone mark to Liberty's cheek mentioned solely for accuracy. Sure to see enthusiastic bidding among high grade, quality conscious type collectors.
