Lot Description
1723 Wood's Hibernia Farthing. Martin 3.13-Bc.5. Rarity-4. DEI. GRATIA. REX. MS-65 RB (PCGS). CAC. A visually splendid Wood's farthing-sized piece with good gloss, and with bold mint orange mingled with lively tan throughout. Sharply struck, indeed, about as sharp overall as you're likely to find. The angel on the harp is fully delineated with full facial details there as well as at Hibernia's head. Magnified scrutiny reveals a coin that is easily up to the rigors of the assigned grade -- no serious marks are seen. A neat reverse die crack arcs downward from Hibernia's shoulder to the back top knob of the harp. Far and away the finest example of the type certified by PCGS within the RB designation. One for the specialists.
