1724 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.67-K.3. Rarity-2. 11 Harp Strings. MS-65 * BN (NGC). Choice and appealing chestnut brown with rose highlights and traces of red in the deeply protected areas. Glossy hard surfaces. A lustrous piece that readily "makes the grade." Nicely struck on the obverse with a hint of weakness at the reverse center; this type is typically weak on one side or the other. The present Wood's Hibernia halfpenny has been carefully handled for nearly three centuries, with the beneficiaries of such delicate treatment being today's collecting community. When gorgeous examples of the type are mentioned among the handful of specialists who pursue them with vigor, we're certain the present beauty will long be remembered. A grand opportunity to become one of those specialists is presented here!
