Lot Description
1920-S Buffalo Nickel. MS-64 (NGC). Lustrous steel gray with lively pale gold and rose iridescence in a bright light source. Sharply struck, especially for the date, with essentially full pelt and head details on the reverse bison. A "chin whisker" variety -- clash marks from the reverse give a suggestion of a beard beneath the Indian's chin. Choice for the grade with no appreciable marks to report. There is a lot of value to be found at the MS-64 level in the Buffalo nickel series -- as the prices can be significantly below MS-65 prices, and yet the difference in quality can be very small.
