An early strike from the dies as the peripheral lettering is crisp and the fields show the usual surface texture of a Philadelphia coin. Reasonably clean surfaces too, and close to the gem level with no deep or disturbing bagmarks. When examining the surfaces notice the fine raised die file marks on the obverse fields, from careless preparation at the mint, while the reverse is more satiny and does not show these features.
