This is one of the scarcer overdate die marriages of the issue, with Q. David Bowers (1993) estimating that only 100-175 examples are known in numismatic circles. The coin we offer here exhibits a typical amount of wear for an 1802/1 B-2 dollar, but the surfaces are remarkably lustrous with considerable satin vibrancy shining forth as the coin rotates under a light. Dressed in pretty golden-apricot iridescence, this superior quality VF is sure to excite the early dollar variety specialist.
