1840 Seated Liberty Half Dime. No Drapery. MS-66 (PCGS). CAC. Eagerly sought for inclusion in advanced type sets, the Seated Liberty Half Dime with Stars Obverse and No Drapery was produced for only three years from 1838-1840. From the Philadelphia Mint's 1840-dated delivery, this richly original Gem stands as a beautifully toned and conditionally scarce representative of the design type. Both sides are layered in vivid multicolored patina that includes shades of golden-orange, pale-pink, powder-blue and olive-copper. Smooth, satiny and fully impressed -- a lovely piece that belongs in the finest cabinet.
