A simply glorious example for the collector who demands stunning quality, lustrous surfaces and a bold strike. The Drapery version of the 1840 Half Dimes is considerably scarcer than the No Drapery style, where the fold of drapery hanging from Liberty's arm is missing. Delicate gold and russet toning covers both sides over reflective surfaces. The strike is notably sharp. One single bagmark serves to identify this little jewel, which lies nearly horizontally between Liberty's neck and the top of the pole. One of the two finest seen by PCGS of this variety and worthy of any advanced collection.
