Lot Description
1844-O H10C AU53 NGC. V-1. Large O. One of the key coins to the Seated half dime series, and an extremely difficult issue to find in high grades. The surfaces are attractive with deep steel gray in the fields that offsets the much lighter silver devices. Identifiable by a tiny nick on Liberty's right wrist near the shield, and on the reverse by a small nick which crosses the left upright and left diagonal of the M in AMERICA. Great eye appeal and fairly well-struck for this issue, with minimal softness on the left side of the wreath. Ex: Jack Beymer, privately (11/1984); William A. Harmon Collection (Heritage, 9/2005), lot 2121. From The Grand Canyon Collection.
