1867 Liberty Seated Half Dime. MS-62 (PCGS). One of the key dates to the series with a tiny mintage of 8,000 pieces for general circulation. However, such coins were hoarded at the time and did not reach general circulation until after April 20, 1876 when silver coins achieved parity with Legal Tender notes. Generally bright silver and satiny, with a dash of crimson and russet near the date, lighter gold around the reverse periphery. Bold die clashing as expected, and a die crack splits the second S of STATES to Liberty's shoulder.
