Lot Description
1874-CC 10C Arrows XF40 PCGS Secure. Only 10, 817 Seated Liberty dimes were coined at the Carson City Mint in 1874, and few examples were saved by contemporary collectors. As a result, the 1874-CC is a rare and sought-after issue, considered the key to the Carson City series, after the uncollectible 1873-CC No Arrows issue. Present-day collectors prize examples of this date in all grades and conditions. The coin offered here is an attractive XF specimen that retains almost all of its original design detail, with only some minor interior definition lost. The lightly abraded surfaces are toned in pleasing shades of champagne-gold, bluish-gray, and lavender, with a few traces of mint luster under the patina. Population: 4 in 40, 9 finer (11/12).
