The key-date 1913-S has the second-lowest mintage (510,000 pieces) in the Barber Dime series after the 1895-O. The issue is rarer in Mint State than such others in this series as the 1900-S, 1905-S, 1911-S, 1912-S, 1914-S, 1915-S and 1916-S. This premium Gem is fully lustrous with a satiny sheen to both sides, the peripheries revealing mottled olive-russet patina. More-or-less brilliant in the centers, and smooth throughout in the absence of grade-limiting abrasions.
