Lot Description
1786 Vermont Copper. RR-8, Bressett 6-E, W-2030. URS-9. VERMONTENSIUM. AU-58 BN (NGC). An exemplary specimen of this Landscape variety, one of the finest specimen of the variety sharper in some respects that the Ryder-Boyd-Ford specimen. Lustrous surfaces show pleasing mottled chestnut and chocolate-brown toning, and superlative visual appeal. The strike is excellent, albeit a trifle off-center as is typical for the type. The only planchet flaw worthy of note is a tiny rim fissure above the second E in VERMONTENSIUM. This planchet is as problem free as just about any we have seen on a Landscape copper. A pre-federal coin of classic quality that is worthy of the collection of any connoisseur.
