Lot Description
1870-CC Seated Liberty Quarter. Briggs 1-A, the only known dies. VG-8 (NGC). CAC. This is the third (!) 1870-CC Seated quarter to pass through our hands for this sale -- a very rare occasion, to be sure, as this elusive key date issue is seldom offered in even single coin quantity. The present lot offers an original VG with uncommonly problem free surfaces in a heavily circulated survivor of this date. Both sides are "tight" with no porosity or other signs of environmental damage. Also absent are singularly distracting abrasions and, in fact, most areas present as quite smooth in outward appearance. Lightly to moderately toned, with most major devices fully outlined and the rims largely distinct. Sure to fetch a strong bid.

Numismatic Reflections by Q. David Bowers
A nice example within the assigned grade, an affordable rarity. Given all the interest in Liberty Seated coins I expect there will be many bids on this one!
