Lot Description
1871-S Seated Liberty Quarter. Genuine--Code 92, Cleaning (PCGS). Uncommonly smooth in all regards, not even a light cleaning has impaired any significant handling marks. Satiny luster remains vibrant, and mottled pinkish-silver and golden-apricot iridescence further enhances the eye appeal. While not quite as rare as the 1872-S, the 1871-S is certainly among the more elusive San Francisco Mint issues in the Seated quarter series. Even circulated survivors from a mintage of 30,900 pieces are scarce, while AUs and very scarce and Mint State coins major condition rarities. An important find for the advanced Seated quarter collector. Unc Details.
