Frosty lilac gray with pale rose highlights somewhat deeper on the obverse, and somewhat reflective in the field there as well. Sharply struck. Carson City may have had an extreme humidity problem in 1876, as the obverse shows definitive signs of rust—many '76-CC dimes reflect the same rusted appearance. Aesthetically rewarding to the eye and equally fine from a physical standpoint; no doubt this coin will bring a premium.
