Though a low mintage issue, our 19th century numismatist forebears had the foresight to save what probably amounts to a couple hundred Mint State coins, the present richly toned Gem ranking among the finest survivors. Probably stored in a paper envelope for decades, the satiny, lustrous surfaces are now toned in luminous dove gray with sea green and orange-gold highlights at the peripheries. Beautiful, desirable, and CAC-verified.
