Toned with light peach-gold throughout with vibrant mirror fields surrounding the frosted devices. Bold throughout and sharply impressed by the dies. This is the Type I reverse with TATE close and the curious squiggly line in the border of the shield that was part of the master hub of the Type I issues. Listed by Breen as ""Extremely Rare"" in his Encyclopedia with further advanced studies coming forth that will no doubt shed more light on these early and remarkably complex proofs of this period. For the year this is one of the finer examples to survive out of 1,355 reported struck, plus this date is quite scarce with circulation strikes quite limited as well.
