Lot Description
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar. O-117. Rarity-4. Two Leaves. VF-30 (NGC). Pleasing surfaces and antique toning which blends gunmetal-blue with lighter silver on the devices. Close scrutiny finds the usual circulation marks, but the rims are free of bumps or adjustment marks. The strike is reasonably sharp, and Liberty shows strong definition in her lower hair curls, features seldom seen on this type save for these higher grade examples. The variety is identifiable by an engraver's line on the right side of the Y of LIBERTY and the C in AMERICA is repunched left.
