Satiny, vibrant surfaces are also boldly defined in an early date Capped Bust Half Dollar. Iridescent steel-gray patina is evident over much of the reverse, but the toning is confined to the periphery on an otherwise brilliant obverse. The latter side of the coin exhibits numerous clashmarks (as struck) in the fields, as often seen in examples of this die marriage.
