This is the finest example reported of the prime die state of the Overton-109 variety, topping the second finest graded by a full grade point. Furthermore, this example has been off the market for generations and likely not known to the collecting public as it was tucked away in a New England museum. The surfaces are fully lustrous beneath a layer of gray-green and gold toning that spans both sides, somewhat irregular in areas. Boldly struck as the stars and curls are full, as are the feathers on the eagle and the tiny central leaf veins. Free of all but minor signs of handling. An opportunity for the variety specialist that may not soon be repeated.
