A popular Guide Book variety, the 1823 O-110a takes it name from the misshapen digit 3 in the date that is the result of a spindly die crack from the lower-obverse border. The present example is an original AU with dominant sandy-gray patina to both sides. Only at the upper-obverse border do we see faint blushes of powder-blue iridescence. Boldly defined for the grade with no worrisome abrasions save for a thin obverse graze in the field after the date.
