Lot Description
1825 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-116. Rarity-3. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC. Tied with three or four others as the second finest of this die variety, the finest is the Overton plate coin which has been off the market for 20+ years. Fully lustrous and toned with golden-russet hues, with deeper blue around the rim of the obverse and reverse. The strike is decent, with most of Liberty's curls showing full separation. Identifiable with a tiny planchet flake out of Liberty's cheek right at the center. Minor die clashing.
