Lot Description
1919-D 50C MS63 PCGS. CAC. In Mint State the 1919-D Walking Liberty half dollar is likely the third-rarest issue of the series, behind the important keys 1919-S and 1921-S. The 1919-D is seldom seen even in the higher circulated grades, making the present Select Mint State example an important conditional rarity. The surfaces are frosty throughout with little trace of color. The strike through the centers is typical, with little detail showing on the branch hand, upper thigh of Liberty, or the lower right (facing) leg feathers on the eagle. Generous luster and relatively few marks for the grade more than compensate, however. The CAC endorsement will further the appeal to many collectors. Population: 56 in 63 (1 in 63+), 78 finer (7/12). From The Fred Yee Collection.
