Lot Description
1921-D 50C MS62 NGC. When one thinks of key-date Walking Libertys, the three 1921 issues immediately come to mind. This lovely example has satiny silver luster with traces of pale gold toning. A decently struck piece, this example shows a fully split thumb on Liberty's branch hand. From the limited mintage of 208,000 coins, few examples survive in any Mint State grade. Walter Breen discussed data from Denver Mint records that state two pair of dies were used to coin 165,000 and 92,672 coins. "The odd 49,672 never left the Mint," according to Breen.
