Lot Description
1921-S 50C AU55 PCGS. CAC. The 1921-S Walking Liberty half dollar is the rarest issue of the series in Mint State, even though several other dates--the 1916-S, 1921-P and D, and 1938-D--have smaller production figures. It appears that the issue was not saved in any significant numbers. Today, even when Mint State specimens are found, they will be the subject of intense collector demand and will command a hefty premium. This Choice AU example may provide collectors with many of the same pleasures at a more-affordable price. As demanded of the grade, much of the mint luster remains, with light contact marks and subtle tinges of pinkish-amber near the rims, while the remainder of the surfaces are untoned and extremely appealing. The CAC population is three pieces in AU55, with seven finer (9/10).
