Lot Description
1933-S 50C MS66 NGC. As the Great Depression worsened, the demand for minor coinage lessened. The San Francisco Mint, for example, struck only cents and halves in 1933. This low-mintage (fewer than 1.8 million pieces) issue is often associated with frosty surfaces and bold devices, and this cream-toned coin is no exception. NGC has certified just two higher-graded examples (8/06).
