Lot Description
1934-S 50C MS67 PCGS. CAC. Satiny luster gives this lightly toned gold-gray and sky-blue Superb Gem a lovely lilt. Liberty's branch hand has a completely separated thumb that is a nail-tip away from a full outline. The fields surrounding Liberty's figure show only a few small luster disturbances. Though coin-collecting was a popular hobby during the Depression, few large silver coins such as half dollars were saved new in quantity, and the 1934-S fifty cent, with a mintage of 3,652,000 pieces, was no exception. Superb Gems are condition rarities. Population: 7 in 67, 0 finer (3/13).
