Lot Description
1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. B-2, BB-20. Rarity-3. BB Die State II. Two Leaves. AU-53 (NGC). OH. An exceptionally lovely Flowing Hair dollar by any and all standards. The frosty steel gray surfaces appear fresh and natural—if this one was ever tampered with, it wasn't within the lifetime of anyone reading this description. A generous degree of underlying luster graces the protected areas, and lively rose and peach iridescence endorses the deepest design areas, including Liberty's tresses. Finding a mark of any consequence, even under magnified scrutiny, is a challenge to a would-be bidder. Some scattered planchet adjustment marks, mint-caused, are seen on the reverse, but none are egregious enough to hinder the inborn beauty of the piece. All told, about as fine a Flowing Hair dollar as you are ever apt to see at the assigned grade!
