Lot Description
1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. B-2, BB-20. Rarity-3. BB Die State II. Two Leaves. EF-40 (PCGS). CAC. An exceptionally lovely deep lilac gray specimen with lighter high points. No marks sully the field of vision save for a few planchet adjustment marks at the eagle's legs, as struck. Reverse die misaligned to 200 degrees or so rather than the standard 180 degree ""coin"" turn. A pleasing Flowing Hair dollar with strictly original surfaces--how often can that be said in today’s numismatic marketplace? Purchased in 2000 and hidden away in a great type collection until now, this attractive specimen will be equally at home in an early dollar set or an advanced U.S. type set. Regardless of where it will end up, one thing is certain--its next owner will be justifiably proud to call this coin his or her own!
