1798 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. Small Eagle. B-1, BB-82. Rarity-3. Bowers Die State II. 13 Stars. VF-35 (PCGS). This scarcer issue of the Draped Bust, Small Eagle silver dollar type is known in only two die marriages, and they are readily distinguishable by counting the number of stars around the obverse periphery. Glints of olive-orange and russet tinting outline many of the device and interrupt an otherwise silver-gray sheen to the surfaces. A few widely scattered abrasions are easily overlooked, allowing one to focus on generally bold detail from a nicely centered strike.
