Lot Description
1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-9, BB-166. Rarity-1. BB Die State V. EF-40 (PCGS). OGH. A coin of outstanding quality for the grade assigned as the fields retain residual luster and the hair curls are boldly defined and show minimal wear on the high points. Examination finds the surfaces to be attractive, and toned in silver-gray with golden accents., with a degree of reflectivity as well. This is an example of the later die state with several minor cracks on the obverse and one on the reverse through MERI. Given the grade assigned long ago, and the remarkable quality and eye appeal, this should elicit strong bidding from knowledgeable numismatists.
