Lot Description
1846-O Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. AU-53 (PCGS). This high grade 1846-O is important as the first New Orleans coin of the denomination. Examples were well used in circulation and today most survivors show extensive wear. The offered AU-53 is exceptionally high grade in this context. The softly lustrous silver-gray surfaces exhibit an even pale champagne-gold sheen. From the first year of branch mint coinage within the dollar denomination. Evenly circulated but not overly marked.
