Lot Description
1871-CC $1 VF35 PCGS. Official mintage: 1,376 pieces. Survival rate: meager. The 1871-CC dollar has the lowest production for its series at the Carson City Mint, though it does not hold the key-date crown (that dubious honor going to the 1873-CC, struck just before "Crime of '73" became law). This is a still-luminous Choice VF example of the 1871-CC dollar, light gray with a faint tinge of gold crossing each side. Though each side shows a handful of small marks and a rim bump or two, this is an important example of a coin that is scarce regardless of condition. Population: 11 in 35, 55 finer (9/12).
