Lot Description
1872-CC $1 VF35 PCGS. The 1872-CC Seated Liberty dollar was produced in small quantities, a fact that was realized by collectors in the 1890s, when collecting mintmarked issues first became popular. A small supply of circulated examples was saved by numismatists at that time, and perhaps 150-200 specimens are still extant today. This impressive Choice VF piece retains much original detail and displays pleasing pinkish-gray patina on both sides. A few minor digs on the figure of Liberty are the only mentionable defects. Population: 10 in 35, 83 finer (9/11).
