Lot Description
1873-CC $1 Fine 15 PCGS. The 1873-CC is the rarest Carson City silver dollar. The mintage of 2,300 pieces is low to begin with, but Breen asserts, "many were melted after April 1873," when the silver dollar ended production in favor of the new Trade dollar. This cream-gray piece displays three full letters in LIBERTY, and the eagle's plumage is bold for the certified grade. A trio of small marks reside on the upper right reverse. Housed in a green label holder. From The Steve Glenn Collection.
