Lot Description
A more-or-less even endowment of vivid reddish-gray patina is noted for the reverse, the color assuming a much more vivid sheen as the coin dips into a light. The obverse is even more profoundly toned with a target-like distribution to golden-olive, cobalt-blue and silver-lavender iridescence. Fully struck throughout, with no individually conspicuous or otherwise outwardly distracting blemishes. An important find for the advanced Seated Dollar enthusiast that recognizes the rarity of the 1864 in business strike format.
